What Grades?

Here we will grade the feudal system off of the 6 pillars of character. The six pillars of character are: trustwothiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring, citizenship.

Trustworthiness:

4.5

Why: On the negative side, people hired other people to go and fight instead of fighting themselves which was basically cheating and decieving the person they hired. On the positive side however, if a knight said that they would submit torture, they kept their word. Also, a knight did the right thing. When there was a war, he went out and fought which is doing the right thing. Also, knights were loyal to their country. As you can tell, knights were the loyalest people in the feudal system.

Respect:

3.5

Why: The Kings were sometimes wicked or unjust and that caused Popes to make changes in the kingdom. Another reason is people could get tortured. Something that we think is disrespectful is that rich Nobles would pay for soldiers to go fight instead of  fighting themselves. This is rude because they make soldiers suffer instead of just suffering themselves. However, when a baron came to a noble's land, the tenants had to provide the baron and his group with shelter, provisions, and food. This is basically the Golden Rule because if you went to the baron's land, wouldn't you want to be treated the same way?

Responsibility:

 4

Why: The Kings had to take resposibility for their actions when they were unjust and the Pope had to make changes to the kingdom. The people were responsible for what they did and did what they were supposed to do. They also always took whatever consequence they were given if they went against their right.

Fairness:

 1

Why: Only certain people could move up in ranks, but not others. Another reason why the system deserves a 1 is because it gave the Nobles alot of rights that no one in the system had.

Caring:

2

Why: It didn't observe everyone's abilities and/or passions, and this is a big deal. It at least gave some rights to most people, but not all people had as many rights as others. Example: Nobles and peasants. The Peasants had few rights while the nobles had a lot.

Citizenship:

3.5

Why: According to the system, most poeple of lower rank had to be neighborly to people of higher rank. However, people always cooperated with what they had to do according to their rank and punishments when they commited a crime. People tended to obey the laws and rules. They also tended to respect any and all authority.
